Greetings, and good morning from Washington, D.C.!

I recently purchased a plant at a Farmer's Market (read: I bought it yesterday), and it's already looking a little worse for wear (read: some of its poor leaves already are turning yellow!).

If anyone could identify this plant for me, I would be most grateful! :)

Many thanks in advance for your time and help!

    Christina

Looks like Dieffenbachia of some sort. Lots of different patterns of green and white on them. Rainforest plants, aroids. The brownish areas on the outer edges of the leaves are because the vendor transported to the market while very dry, then watered lightly while there. It could be from too much sun there, but I'm thinking it was too dry at some point. The color will not return. They like humidity and diffuse light.

It's also possible it's an Aglaonema sp. Different origin, but still an aroid. And same answer re discolored leaves.
