Ariani, I hope you aren't confusing Sweet Marjoram (Origanum majorana) with Oregano (various other species of Origanum). Take a look at the picture in Wikipedia under Marjoram; it looks just like your plant. And the relatively tender Sweet Marjoram certainly has a strong, pleasant aroma, stronger than Oregano in my experience. Also, there seems to be a bit of confusion about the Latin name of Sweet Marjoram, at least on the Web. It was called Origanum majoricum and Origanum X Majoricum in some places.
