I am not kidding with the electric reciprocating saw - it's part of my pruning arsenal.

I have an electric reciprocating saw myself. Depending on where the offending culprit is located, it can be a pain in the arse to deal with 150ft. of heavy duty eletrical cord. In cases like that, I opt for a plain old machete or a simple hacksaw if the stalk/branch/whatever isn't too thick. If it's too thick for a machete or a hacksaw, I get out my small 14" chain saw if there's not a lot of brush or vines involved. But if I go to all that trouble, I'm gonna trim A LOT of stuff....big and small. :)

My 14" chain saw was a gift many years ago. I've been greatful ever since. :)

Tell everyone you know that's what you want for your birthday. The 14" is small but powerful for anything short of a tree that requires professionals. They are very, very handy. Nothin' says "lovin" like something from Home Depot. lol
