I received an orchid plant three years ago, from orchids.com. The orchid was supposed to be Slc. Best Friend 'Dogashima' (Lc Drumbeat 'Triumph' AM/AOS x Slc Love Tradition). In searching for all three of these names - all of these flowers are in the pink to purple range. Mine opened today for the first time and it is yellow. I am not well enough versed in orchids to really know more than that obviously it IS a Cattleya variety - either Slc or Lc. I hope my attachment is included here. I am new, and hope I followed instructions correctly. Can anyone help with the ID of this orchid?

Orchids.com is still around. Send them the picture with an explination of the purchase, and let them identify it for you. Outside of this method, I don't think you have a hope. There are 100s of thousands of hybrids. Any name someone gives you will undoubtedly be wrong. Cynthia, Prescott, AZ
