Identification: ID for a cedar type tree in Toronto

    Hello,

    Thank you for your help. Unfortunately I do not have close up pictures of the tree leaves, however I would be very appreciative if someone could help me ID the tree, or give me a couple of options of what it could be. Unfortunately the tree is no longer and I only have these old photos.
    The tree needs to be replaced by my neighbour and as such, I need an ID, as we are in a bit of a funding dispute. Thank you!!

    It looks like Thuja occidentalis (cypress family).

    Yep, Arborvitae Thuja occidentalis - not a cedar (Cedrus) at all.
