Not sure what this is. The needles are sharp, flat, oriented toward the end of the branch, about 1/2 inches long. The tree stands around 60 feet tall with dense, bright green foliage. Spruce? Variety? Any ideas?

Ditto to Sugi Cryptomeria japonica. A popular park tree, native to Japan.
