Purchased a plant at farmers mkt. today & was told it was a bleeding heart. After research I don't believe so....2-4 ft tall...vinelike & instead of fern(fingered) leaves like bleeding hearts..it has leaves more like a fuchsia maybe a bit larger. The blooms are two parts, small, hang upside down like bleeding heart but the top half is white (boxed shaped like japanese lantern bloom) & bottem half is red. The blooms also do not grow along the stem like bleeding hearts but more clustery. I'm located in SW US...Georgia. Thank You in advance for any assistance....it's greatly appreciated.

This sounds like "bleeding heart vine", or "bleeding heart glorybower", Clerodendrum thomsoniae.

    Check:

Clerodendrum thomsoniae from the greenhouses at the University of Alaska, Fairbanks
