    Hi-

Can anyone please help me identify these trees? I think they may be redwoods but I'm not sure. They are growing in Seattle.

Any tips on plants that will grow i their understory?

    thank you!!

Bare dirt is typical under young conifers. But you might be able to get some attractive forest creepers like Viola sempervirens or Oxalis oregana going, if you put a little well aerated soil down for them to start in, mulch afterward.

Thank you for your replies! Also, wondering if anyone can confirm that these are giant sequoia's/ redwoods?

The characteristic foliage and bark can be seen in your pictures. You can find many other examples in local plantings, see Trees of Seattle by A. L. Jacobson.
