    hello
We have this lovely fellow raining catkins on our neighbors. We wanted to identify it to develop a pruning strategy.
    I suspect a willow - perhaps black?
Alternating oval shaped leaves or rather groups of leaves, very fine verigation if any, catkins are very fluffy now in Maple Ridge.

    Thanks

    Christopher

Yes, definitely a willow. Willow ID is exceptionally difficult unless it is one of a few of the obvious ones--this one doesn't strike me as one of those.
