We have a large quantity of pampas grass in our area; some on people's property, and some along the perimeter of vacant lots. I would like to cut some of this to use for decoration at my daughter's wedding in December. My husband is concerned that if someone sees me cutting it they will become angry. To me, it seems as if it is dying out anyway. I would appreciate information so that I am not misconstrued as the environmentally/aesthtically "unfriendly" neighbor!

Well, to not be helping yourself without authorization you must contact property owners and get permission beforehand. Pretty much stuck with that.

The leaves has very sharp serrated edges and will give a shallow but painful cut if you are not careful. I am not sure, then, if you really should include these in the wedding deco. I agree with Ron - when it comes to other people's properties, you should really ask first. I will bet you that those home owners who refuse to give permission are rare.
