    Hello
My husband and I recently purchased a home in Kamloops with an overgrown grapevine that is taking over the yard and other trees. I have no idea what kind it is - I think it will have green grapes. It's beginning to grow into the neighbor's yards and attach itself to their trees etc. Am I able to prune the longest vines back now (it has ripening fruit) without damaging the vine or the fruit?
    Thank you

Yes you may cutback as much as you need to control-it, without damaging the vine or the fruit. Grapevines are very resillient; a new vine will form were it was cut-off.
