The GM apple known as "Arctic Apple" is now legal to grow and sell in Canada and the US. It is genetically engineered not to turn brown. It will not brown after slicing for 15 days or more.
If it gets onto the market, it would be only the second GM fruit sold anywhere in the world, after a Hawaiian-grown papaya, and it would be the first GM fruit to be grown in Canada. http://www.cban.ca/Resources/Topics/GE-Crops-and-Foods-Not-on-the-Market/Apple

If it won't turn brown in air, it presumably also won't be digested by the human stomach . . .
