    Hi there

I am in the UK and have tried several times to germinate Kaffis lime seeds. This time I have bought an Aerogarden and they have been in three weeks. They just seem to be rotting away with algae now. My seeds came from Thailand and seemed very shrivelled and dry. I wont let this beat me.

    Hi Russell,
I know you posted this question 5 years ago, but I'm just catching up on some old posts. I'm sure a lot has changed since then as it has here in Canada. If you have an Asian market that sells the limes, just dig out the seeds and plant. I got quite a few to germinate, but after a year the plants got quite tough and the spines were lethal. I ended up getting rid of them. I might try again, as it's very convenient to have the leaves at hand for cooking. BTW, 'kaffir' lime is politically incorrect now, but I forget what the going common name is. Anyway hope you are still on the forum and have a forest of lime trees now.
    Christine
