Found, for me, an unusual plant while hiking.

    Just wondering what plant is in the photographs. I am concerned it might be an invasive species, having not seen it in the forests of South Vancouver Island before.

    I checked the local municipal website and they listed three species but none of the photo's matched what I had seen. Probably worried about nothing but want to make sure.

    Thanks for mentioning that. The Arctium - Wikipedia article was interesting in the list of places where the names for burdock and velcro are similar, and the photo of that leaf about a third the length of that very tall man. The Food and Drink section was pretty interesting as well.
