I came across this seemingly native orchid in Tuscany - Italy. It is a remarkably good mimic of a dragonfly, with each flower measuring about 8cm long including the wonderful blue tail. A truly remarkable plant and I am a bit miffed that I can't identify it. However, I am sure that some of the experts around here will help me out.

    Looks like Himantoglossum adriaticum.

Thanks! Finding it by the side of a dusty dirt road when I was walking made my day.
