Can someone suggest how to help my Yucca?

You can see the smaller trunk looks great, but the taller is dying. I've read mixed reviews about how to address. Some say to check roots for rot and re-pot. Others say you can cut off trunk. You can see that parts of the soil are dark (was watered three days ago), which is why I'm leaning towards rot.

    Any suggestions are appreciated!

    Welcome to the forums, Dbrus.
That taller one looks like it is beyond rescue. I would saw it off near the ground and let the other one take over. It's still worth checking the roots to see what is going on, whether there are still roots, whether there are bugs. If roots are mushy, make sure it dries out before watering it again, and feel the difference in the dry/watered weight, don't water it when it feels heavy.
