My mum just bought a beautiful cyclamen from a nursery. We asked if its hard to plant and will it last. She said we only need to keep it moist. Apparently we found out after that it prefers cold weather. I live in Malaysia so I'm wondering if the plant will survive the weather ?

The preferred temperature range depends on the particular species that you have. In Malaysia I assume that only the frost-tender species will be available. I have two hardy species that overwinter outdoors in Canada; one of them is blooming right now. You probably have Cyclamen persicum, or one of the similar tender types. While these do not tolerate really cold temperatures (below freezing) they still like temperatures under 20 degrees C. Higher temperatures will not kill these varieties, but they will likely go dormant after a while and never re-bloom.

Thanks. We bought it yesterday and the flowers are already drooping today.
