Pictures indicate the typical size of the crosne tubers. It is difficult to obtain seed stock, since the seed houses do not stock this cultivar.
Crosne (Stachys affinis) A 26 foot row of Crosne tubers (40) were planted 11 April 2009. I dug a trench about 10 inches deep and 12 inches wide and lined it with an old plastic pool cover, then filled with soil and planted the crosne, much like one would plant small potatoes.
