My clamatis is a big blooms flower bloomer which blooms in late spring and summer. It is now five years old and is starting to have the leaves gradually turning brown and dying and my blooms won't bloom Can somebody tell me what is wrong with it? Do clmatis have a certain life span? Should I dispose of the whole plant? Please help!

With Clematis, browning of some of the leaves seems to be a normal occurrence with some cultivars. With others, some of the leaves tend to wilt.
Mine (around 8-10yrs old) have almost aways had some dry leaves occur when it's flowering.I just cut those off. Clems can live a long time, I know one lady who has had hers growing for over 40 yrs!
Maybe a little fertilizer can help with the blooms on yours....
Make sure it's not drying out when temperatures get high and keep it's "feet" mulched.
