Hello esteemed plant lovers! I encountered a home in Seattle with some interesting trees, including two young, but maturing tall Chilean fire trees, how cool is that? However one tree certainly stumped me and I feel like I know it but just can't seem to figure it out. I keep thinking zelkova mostly because the leaves seem about right, possibly carpinus but it lacked that, shall we say, ordinary look. Let me know what you think.

    Thanks,
    Zeb

One of the eastern Amelanchier. These are highly prevalent in local horticulture at this time, particularly A. x grandiflora cultivars.

    Thanks, Ron.
I knew I knew it. Most of the Amelanchier I see are so much smaller. I do however see a lot of them.
    You're the best!
