Can Ceanothus be grown as a 3' wide 6' tall hedge? Is someone out there doing it?

    Thanks for the help.

You could keep one 3' wide by pruning back new growth right after bloom each year, from early in the life of the planting. However, I would never depend on ceanothus as a hedge due to the hardiness problem.

Yes, you're right of course. A lot of Ceanothus died this winter just wanted to know if it's possible. What cultivar would you use if you threw caution to the wind and did it anyway?

'Victoria' (probably correctly 'Skylark'). As with broom, you cut back evergreen ceanothus right after bloom each year, staying out of the old hard wood.
