    I found this Cathaya argyrophylla in a field in Oregon. It is probably one of the biggest in the US. It makes the one in my garden look tiny which is just over 5' tall and in the second photo.

    Thanks.

    With the trees in the background it kind of make the whole picture pretty crazy looking. The trees in the background are pines. I am not sure of what variety they are.

    An abandoned nursery?

    Is the tree likely to be protected from future development? Any cones on it?

    I do believe it is being propagated in limited quantities. The one in my yard is from a different nursery in oregon and I havr never seen them on the availability list with the exception of this one.
