Cantaloupe seeds tunneling through fruit

    (I'm not sure if this is the right forum or if it should go in science.)

    I *am* growing some Charentais, but this about a supermarket cantaloupe.

    When I sliced it open, there were two trails spiraling out from the center of the fruit, and there were seeds in them.

    I've attached some pictures. I just found it curious and wanted to know your experiences, and if this was a "normal" thing.

    I found the answer to this on the Web: the trails were made by you when your knife caught two seeds in the middle and dragged them through the cantaloupe flesh. When the captured seeds got to the tougher rind, the knife cut through them.
