These buttercup photos were taken in mid June two years ago at St. Paul Island, Alaska. I suspect they might be Ranunculus eschscholtzii or R. sulphureus, based on species previously reported on the island, but I am far from sure. Any thoughts?

I don't know which one it is, but R. nivalis is also reported as growing on St. Paul.
You might find some useful information doing a genus search for Ranunculus here :

Thank you for the link. I will check it out. Yes, I know R. nivalis has been reported there by some. R. nivalis and R.
sulphureus are very similar, so it is hard to tell from these photos.
