I've got some seeds chilling in the fridge I plan on sowing in the spring, and ultimately I want to graft or bud onto some of the resultant seedlings. Is this done in the Fall? Could someone who's done this give an idea of how to go about "chip-budding" outdoors?

Chip and T budding are most often done in August. Apples usually are whip and tongue grafted in late winter/early spring.
