In The Garden: black & chartreuse shrub

    Can you identify this shrub I saw in central Texas? It was in an old, untended landscape that I am fairly sure was put in by a local landscaper maybe 35 years ago. Thanks!

    Probably a Privet with some cold damage due to the ice storms this Winter.

    The plant was mistakenly pulled out about 4 years ago. What you see isn't cold damage. This was the coloration year-round. I appreciate that you took the time to reply!

    Definitely a privet. The purple is probably winter color, just tinting rather than damage.
