I have two banana leaf ficus' that sit in my front entry way, they get plenty of sun and are doing very well (lots of new growth). This weekend I watered them both and noticed ants coming up from the soil. Looks like they've decided to take up residence. I understand that anything I pour in the soil to kill them will most likely kill the plant. Is it harmful to use some sort of granular pesticide?
