    I identified this youngster all by myself as Athrotaxus laxifolia. What do you think? It's in Queen Elizabeth Park, where they would have access to such a thing.

    It's an unfortunately confusing photo - I think I have the entire tree in the photo, and the darker branches and trunk that continues up past the top of the photo belong to something across the road. I definitely have to check that out.

    Yes, Athrotaxus laxifolia is correct. Good find!
