If you've checked my site, you are aware I've been working with Anthurium regale for well over one year. I've been coached by three experts, and make no claim to be an expert. But I have seen a lot of scientific documents regarding Anthurium regale.

The "seeds" shown on one eBay auction ARE NOT Anthurium regale! I have no idea what they are, but THESE ARE NOT ANTHURIUM REGALE!

If you'd like to read some of the collective work of LariAnn Garner, Julius Boos, Dr. Tom Croat along with my information on Anthurium regale, you can find it here. There are at least 6 pages showing the development of a spathe and spadix!

This auction is nothing more than a gigantic hoax!!! If you are tempted, BUYER BEWARE!

I don't understand why it bothers you so much. If it's not Regale seeds, then don't buy them. You don't think Ladybotany reads this and smiles to herself about how miserable she makes you? Relax, she'll be gone as soon as the market dies down or people wise up.

    Cheers

There are a number of members of the International Aroid Society attempting to protect people from this. Evidence has been found that this fraud has been repeated under another name on eBay. If you'd like to buy her "chalk" or sliced "potatoes" feel free. They are not Anthurium regale seeds. Those of us who have worked with this species know what color those seeds should be, and it isn't white! I have just received a note from an expert who worked in Peru for some time with this species. That person was dismayed at this offer! But feel free to buy them. One of the U.S. largest sellers of Anthurium also just sent me a note and could not believe what she was seeing! Those who know what these seeds should look like are astounded! I'd rather protect people who don't know an Anthurium seed from a shoe string from this farce!

Looks like pieces of soap to me. Price is a little steep but I could use some soap. By the way what color are Regale seeds?

    Cheers

Purple! If you've got a good botany journal, you can read it. Well, the spadix and berries are purple. Most of the seeds are just brown and small.

I have said often, I'm no expert. I'm a student! An old one, but still a student. But I do correspond with experts almost daily. Two of them are probably reading this thread and laughing! One just sends me email after they reads the posts. I did a nearly three month research project on this species under Dr. Croat's supervision with the help of two others who are truly experts, LariAnn Garner and Julius Boos. They checked my facts daily and I've been told some of what we learned about this species is being used in a scientific paper. As an example, I was able to observe that Anthurium regale produces the female flowers from the top of the spadix down. That is backwards for the genus. Dr. Croat kept telling me I was wrong until he saw my photos. Then he told me the name of the peculiar phenomenon which is rare in Anthurium species. I am certain some will find that boring and of little use. I find it very interesting. But to each his own.

Dr. Croat is the top Anthurium botanist in the country, probably the world. He either verified or corrected everything I wrote for those three months. You can easily find all the photos on notes on the internet.

These are closeups of the spadix on Day 69. This spadix did not produce seeds. But with LariAnn's help I was able to collect pollen. Part of that was used in one of her projects and the rest is still in my freezer awaiting the next spadix. If time repeats itself, that one should be produced in the next month but will take 1.5 or more months to mature before it can be pollinated.
