Sounds like sunburn. That is, if the foliage turns a grey-white and falls off.

My adeniums are brought outdoors at the end of spring/beginning of summer. Otherwise, they are indoor plants. At any rate, I have to slowly introduced the light over a period of weeks and then after 3-4 weeks, I can move them to a full sun location. I learned this the hard way after loosing all the leaves off of two of my adeniums and then it took another 3-4 weeks for the plant to send out new foliage and fill out again. It delayed the flowering about 2 months.

Without seeing the plant, it is difficult to say.
