    Hi all,

Having read some other threads about Acer Ryusen on here and seen a lovely photo of one in a hanging basket, I am wondering would it be possible to grow one in a window box? I have four of them on my front window and they are quite big, about 1 foot by 4 foot. Is it sustainable in the long term do you think? They are in full sun though. Probably not the right spot?

I think your assessment of , "not the right spot", is correct. Unless you think the "long term" is one or two years I do not see Ryusen, 'Ryu sei,' as an ideal window box specimen. I suppose one could get one to survive for a number of years if you were willing to root prune and fertilize but it would not be an ideal location. Just my opinion.
