Or 'Yu gure' which apparently means 'evening cloud'. According to several books, this is a very old cultivar present in the list of 1719. Matsumurae.

In my garden, it is its third year in the ground in heavy, dappled, shade. It does look sturdy with large leaves that are reddish brown when unfolding (first pic early April), keeping the color quite well as the other two pics (taken April 30th and May 4th) show. It will eventually fade to a dark brown-green in the summer. Fall color red.

Short o and short u have different meanings from long versions in transliterated Japanese, so Maples for Gardens suggests alternatives oh and uh where macrons difficult or impossible to use:

"Consider Acer palmatum 'Yugure'*, for example, in which yu* with the long vowel means 'evening' and gure means 'cloud', hence 'evening cloud'. But yu with the short vowel means 'hot water' and the meaning of 'Yugure' would change to 'steam cloud'."

    According to this dictionary,
夕暮れ = yuugure = evening / (evening) twilight
