Identification: A snake-barked maple with three lobes

    A snake-barked maple with three lobes is located on the north side of 100s block of West 15 Ave., Vancouver

    Possibly Acer rufinerve. Can you add a close-up of the underside of a (preferably still green) leaf, please?

    Specimens in this group grown from seed gathered in planted collections may often be of hybrid origin, not key out to any one species.

    For which reason it is very difficult to ID garden maples in section macrantha. Seed grown plants available in trade are also too often of garden origin.
