Our 30-year old lemon tree's East-facing half has yellow leaves, now growth, and has retained its summer fruit (unlike the usual green leaves, shooter growth and dicharged fruit on the other half, which is usual and normal). The landscape architech believes (without seeing the tree) that it is frost damage, and that when spring arrives, I should cut it back to green wood and fertilize it. I think it could be related to a months-long leak in a sprinkler near that side of the tree that was not discovered until we cut back the plants in there in December. I assume that the trimming and feeding will be a minimum to be done; but should I wait and should I do anything else. Here are two current pictures (I hope). Greg San Jose, CA
Frost was likely in your area, as it was all over California, however, is that another tree behind your lemon? It is diff. to decipher... I would wait a few months before determining any remedial action as most established trees will show specific signs of improvement or distress over the growing season...
