Unknown flowering tree

    I was recently in Naples Italy and saw a beautiful flowering tree. Can anyone ID this tree for me?

    Looks like a Cercis with a strong tendency to cauliflory, which is characteristic of Cercis canadensis.

    Geographic location of tree and its appearance suggest Judas tree rather than eastern redbud.
