Hi, my grandma gave this to me as a present but she doesnt know its name. All she knows is that it is a native of Cambodia. It also has this pungent odor. Anyone got a clue? Thanks! 26102850_2154676631215975_1624776415_n.jpg

Going partly by what appears to be a spathe and spadix peeping out of the top probably an anthurium - of which there are 1100 species with varying characteristics. Here's an example of one (as well as others) of the same general type:

    anthurium superbum - Bing images

Later: I misread your post as saying the plant was from Columbia.

So apparently it's from another aroid genus. Of which there are lots.
