    Hi there,

Wondering if any of you could help me identify a eucalyptus species I bought this spring. It was sold to me as Eucalyptus neglecta but I don’t believe it is upon researching it. It has seen -5 with no damage already this winter, however who knows is frost hardiness beyond this.

It is growing in coarse well drained soil in full sun all day. SE aspect. Has roughly doubled in height since planting this spring.

    Thanks in advance!

Looks familiar but there are hundreds of species. Try asking Ian Barclay through his Desert Northwest web site.

Well after doing a little more research I believe I have narrowed it down to Eucalyptus viminalis. Sources differ on hardiness, but most fall between -15 to -5. Likely not fully hardy here, but only time will tell how well it does.
