My wife and I need help to identify this plant in our backyard. We live in Arizona, USA.

Our new puppy has been eating the nuts from it, with no side-effects but we want to be doubly sure it's OK.

    Thank you in advance!

It's an oak. Acorns are not healthy for dogs to eat. They contain tannins, which can cause serious digestive issues. It would be a good idea to rake them up so puppy can not eat them.
