Can someone help identify this bush (or maybe small tree?) it's about 3m tall. The leaves seem to be going black too- why?

Believe it's a Sambucus species, too, but not sure which one, other than a cutleaf form.

Thanks! Any idea why the leaves would be curling and going black? The tree next to it seemed to have died a few weeks ago suddenly and the other 2 trees next to it have leaves that are doing the same... My trees are all dying and I just moved in 2 months ago! :(
