I have a Jade plant which my coworker was watching for me for a year while I was on maternity leave.

(no hard feelings to her, I kill plants too!) It's barely alive now, and i'm not sure what happened to it, or if there's something I can do to help it, or if I should prune it, etc.

It basically suddenly dropped almost all its leaves, and the ones remaining are warped, some with a rough texture. There are some new growth buds starting, which is a good sign?

Looks like it should recover now that you're back and tending to it.

I'm going to wild guess that she essentially over-tended it while I was gone, the peace lily she was also watching was practically bogged it was so wet, so I'm betting she overwatered it and killed a bunch of the root system, so I'm giving it some dry-out time and seeing how that goes?

    Thanks for your reply

That was my suspicion as well. It needed to be neglected more often!
