I wish to purchase Rosa Zepherine Droughin. I am located in Victoria, BC but am willing to buy it from wherever. I had to leave my large rose when I moved and Zepherine Droughin has a very sentimental meaning for me. Does anyone know where I can purchase this please? Thank you.
Rose specialist nurseries have been closing but otherwise in the past two major North American suppliers have been Hortico and Pickering, both located in Ontario. You might want to look for those on the internet, see if either is still in business and shipping roses to retail customers.
They didn't have it or they weren't doing retail mail-order anymore? Cultivar is not a rare kind, as far as it goes - although when rose sales fall off as they have in later days then even more familiar kinds like this can become comparatively scarce.
In case you didn't find a supplier you could try to grow a new plant from cuttings taken from the one you left behind.
Thanks for the emails. One nursery did not stock it at all and the other I think was going out of business. Unfortunately taking cuttings is an option as the new owner destroyed the plant.
I will try Brentwood Bay. I know the owner. Last time he didn't have it even though it was on his list and he sold me a sport of it which was not a wise choice as it promptly died. He admitted that he had problems with it and with Zepherine Droughin and wasn't carrying it any more. Anyhow worth a emai. Thanks.
Might be something for you in here somewhere. http://www.bing.com/search?q=zephirine+drouhin+price&FORM=AWRE
I came across a number of sites offering this rose but none were in Canada. It can be had if you're willing to go through the hassle and cost of having to get a phytosanitary certificate.
Yes I can get it from Jackson and Perkins. Right now I am in Mexico until April, so am hesitant to order it on-line from the States due to the necessary paperwork to get it into the country as I won't be back for a while. This is why I am trying to find a Canadian supplier. Vesey's used to offer this rose, but so far it has not appeared in their catalogue. I am sure that something will turn up one way or the other. Thanks though for the info.
