Interesting article. I didn 't realize how small even the original Carolinian forest was in Ontario. The only small mistake that I noticed was the mention of the Massasauga Rattlesnake as the only venomous snake in Canada. I know that BC has rattlesnakes, and a quick check via Google verified that they belong to a different species. There is a third species in the prairie provinces.

True, there is a mistake. He probably had Ontario in mind.

I just looked at the Net to find that in Canada there are four :-) species of venomous snakes
    1.
    Northern Pacific rattlesnake in BC
    2. Desert Nightsnake in BC
    3. Massasauga in Ontario
    4. Prairie rattlesnake in Saskatchewan and Alberta. See: How many venomous snakes are there in Canada
